Mythology has been the new genre which is making the bestseller of novels these days. Anand Neelakantan is back with his second book on the Ajaya series ” RISE OF KALI : DURYODHANA’S MAHABHARATHA”.

Contrary to every book where they focus on the victors, Anand Neelakantan mainly focuses the perspective of the losers in his books back from Asura : The Tale of the Vanquished. Here in this Ajaya series, the perspective is of the Kauravas who were decimated to the last, especially Duryodhana’s perspective. The author has well established the novel and eventhough there are times boring, the novel as a whole is good. I really enjoyed it more than Ajaya : Roll of the Dice. The author seems to have well drawn to the anti – heroes of the epics and that makes a very interesting read.

The best part I liked about this book was that of the argument between Suyodhana & Krishna and Suyodhana arguing about his right of the cause. The emergence of mythology as popular genre among the masses is really a good sign of reviewing the mythology to the new generation and a appreciation particularly for the author. The author is sure to raise the eyebrows of the readers once again through this sequel of the epic Ajaya.

Happy Reading.
